Mpox Vaccine: Promotion Materials Toolkit

The National Coalition for Sexual Health (NCSH) has developed a series of digital and print materials, with messages in both English and Spanish, for health departments and community-based organizations to promote uptake of the mpox vaccine - including second dose vaccine reminder cards. These evidence-based materials were guided by a needs assessment, a professional advisory group, and pre-testing with the intended public audiences.

The NCSH mpox toolkit includes promotional materials (digital ads, social media captions, flyers, postcards, and palm cards) that can be used and/or adapted for print and digital spaces. Open space is included within many of the designs to allow you to co-brand, if desired. We hope you will share these tools with general and social media staff within your organization and use communication channels to promote positive mpox messaging to increase vaccine uptake and prevent the spread of mpox.

To access the English and Spanish materials, download the Mpox Vaccine: Promotion Materials Toolkit (PDF)

Message 1:

"The mpox vaccine is very safe. Over 1 million doses have been given, and side effects usually don’t occur or they’re mild, like soreness in the arm or body aches. Don’t delay – get vaccinated."

Message 2:

"The mpox vaccine has a strong track record. Studies show it can help you prevent illness, painful symptoms, and trips to the hospital."

Message 3:

"Mpox can cause severe symptoms. Did you know mpox can cause severe symptoms, such as painful sores and even anal pain or bleeding? Get the mpox vaccine to help you stay healthy."

Message 4:

"We reduced mpox cases before, and we can do it again. But, now cases are rising. Let’s keep each other safe and get vaccinated."

Special consideration: This message should only be disseminated when cases are rising/on the verge.

Message 5:

"Want to worry less and enjoy sex more? Get the mpox vaccine."

Message 6:

"Mpox is still here. Health experts warn that local outbreaks can occur at any time. Get vaccinated now to protect yourself. "
