A growing number of Gen Z singles are choosing celibacy as a form of self-care and empowerment amid dating burnout, hookup fatigue, and shifting social dynamics. Justin Lehmiller of NCSH member, the Kinsey Institute, is quoted.

“Chatfishing,” or using AI to craft messages on dating apps, is blurring the line between human and machine interaction, which experts warn may undermine genuine human intimacy. Research from NCSH member, the Kinsey Institute, is featured.

“Freak matching” is a Gen Z dating trend where people bond over their quirkiest traits, like niche obsessions or odd habits, as a rejection of algorithm-driven, surface-level dating. NCSH member, Shan Boodram, is quoted.

UK health officials are urging gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men to get vaccinated against mpox as a new strain shows signs of local spread in Europe.
